The Motley Fool published a piece on economic performance in five (5) areas under every President since 1900. The areas measured are: Stock Market Performance, Corporate Profits, Real GDP Per Capita, Inflation, and Unemployment.
For the last four years, Republicans have been claiming that President Obama is anti-business, bad for business, hates capitalism, blah, blah, blah.
Yet, as the Motley Fool notes, President Obama has, far and away, been the best President for corporate profits, and one of the best for stock market returns, since 1900.
The Motley Fool notes that:
Corporate profits were incredibly depressed from the financial crisis in January 2009, when President Obama entered office. That low starting point makes growth through today look massive. If, instead of January 2009, you use January 2008 profit levels as a starting base, average annual corporate profit growth under President Obama is 6.8%.
That’s 3x the performance under Saint Ronald Reagan.
So the next time someone tells you President Obama is the worst President for business ever, you’ll know that they’re talking out their backsides.
