Yep, it’s that time of year again. We’re 4 weeks into the season and this’ll be my first update…you know, that whole moving cross country thing has kept me busy. This year, I’m in four leagues, and keeping track really hasn’t been that difficult.
Here’s where I stand currently
ESPN – The Rocket Scientist Dude (1-3)
This is my newest league, populated with my Twitter friends around the country… it’s also the toughest. It’s a 12 team league with a unique scoring system and, for my first experience ever, individual defensive players. With a distinct lack of experience and knowledge, I’m getting my tail kicked in on a weekly basis.
My team is also drastically underperforming. Tony Romo, Chris Johnson, and Darren McFadden are all off to horrible starts. Add to this, last week I benched CJ2K and, due to injuries to Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller, picked up and started Tashard Choice. Wrong move. CJ2K ran for 3x his season total while Jackson and Spiller played on Sunday.
This is definitely a “gotta study the waver wire” league. Defensively, I’m doing good. Offensively… it’s just offensive.
ESPN – Team Sal (3-1)
In this league, I’m doing well. Ten teams, a killer draft (Arian Foster, Roddy White, Antonio Brown, Jimmy Graham) and the added bonus of picking up the Arizona Cardinals defense off waivers. Pretty happy here. Even the waiver wire is good since rosters are small, leaving great choices for #2 WR/RB on bye weeks.
YAHOO – Salem’s Brew (3-1)
Another good team here, my only loss was last week by 5 points. Brandon Tate and Ryan Williams let me down, but other than that, I’m pleased. Looking at replacing Kevin Ogletree with either Davone Bess or Mike Williams, further cementing my league dominance.
YAHOO – Roughnecks (2-2)
Matt Ryan is killing it for this team… 330 points in 4 weeks… yes, he rocks. Plus, with Roddy White, Torrey Smith, and Antonio Brown as my WR corps, those four can make up for almost any poor performance from my mediocre RB corps.
Even at 1-3 in my tough ESPN league, I’m only a game out of first. Out of the 12 teams, only 3 have winning records, while everyone else is either 2-2 or 1-3. Long season yet to go…
