Directly from the Department of “You couldn’t make this up if you tried”:
Speaking to the Tea Party Convention in Nashville today, US Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) officially stated his love for all things segregationist and racist when during his speech he said:
“And then, something really odd happened, mostly because I think that we do not have a civics literacy test before people can vote in this country. People who could not even spell the word “vote,” or say it in English, put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House, name is Barack Hussein Obama.”

In addition, he also slammed Sen. John McCain, saying “Thank God John McCain lost the election.”
All that’s missing is a loop of George Wallace saying:
Let us rise to the call of freedom-loving blood that is in us and send our answer to the tyranny that clanks its chains upon the South. In the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny . . . and I say . . . segregation today . . . segregation tomorrow . . . segregation forever.
When reached for comment, Tea Party Convention organizer Judson Phillips defended Tancredo’s comments.
