#FantasyFootball Friday | 2011 Week 6

2-0 last week, baby, 2-0!

Man, after getting my tail kicked in both leagues the last couple weeks, I finally got off the schnide and picked up victories in both leagues.

Yahoo

Salem’s brew picked up the win 235-219.  Not a spectacular win, and no real standouts, just a solid effort from every starter this week.  I was a little worried watching Minnesota’s defense kick the snot out of the Cardinals, but the worry was short-lived as I watched three of his WR‘s (one starter, two flex plays) score a grand total of 15 point….in a PPR league.

ESPN

Picked up the win in this one 107-38.  It really wasn’t fair, since he had two starters on a bye week and an injured Rashad Mendenhall.  It was touch and go after the morning games, but with Forte, Best, and Stafford all on my starting squad, the outcome was never truly in doubt.

This week I, yet again, made a couple of moves in preparation for the bye weeks coming up.

In my Yahoo league I dropped Ed Dickson and picked up Jake Ballard.  Dickson isn’t doing much of anything and Ballard is quickly becoming one of Manning’s favorite targets.  I also dropped that waste of flesh Mario Manningham and picked up new Cleveland starter Greg Little.  He’s a flex play, but as starter should put up some decent numbers.

Oh, I was offered a trade that’s pending approval…. I was offered Michael Turner for Santonio Holmes.  I didn’t hesitate…Holmes has been a huge disappointment and the Jets play calling is just plain awful.  Now that Romo’s bye week is done, I’ll be looking to unload Cam Newton for a top-tier RB or WR.  There’s a couple of teams in QB trouble, so I’m sure I can work an advantageous deal.

In my ESPN league I dropped Percy Harvin, Neil Rackers, and (this one hurt) Stevan Ridley.  The first two just aren’t doing well and Ridley, well, we all saw what BGE did this last week in New England.  I replaced them with Crabtree (SF’s only receiver, really) Rian Lindell, and Delone Carter, who’ll be taking over for the injured Joseph Addai.

I have tough matchups in both leagues this week, although my Yahoo opponent just lost Blount to a knee injury and he doesn’t really have a replacement.  Realistic prediction for this week is 1-1 with a win in Yahoo and a loss in ESPN.

Till next week!
