Well, the playoffs start soon and I’m fighting to squeeze in as the bottom seed in both leagues. In my Yahoo league, I’m 5-5 and 7th out of 12 while in my ESPN league I’m 6-4 and 3rd in my division. If I were in the other division I’d be in first, but hey….that’s how things go sometimes.
Now on to the post-mortem
Yahoo
In my Yahoo league I delivered a beating. Final score 322-259. Yes, a 70 point beatdown. Thank you Tony Romo and Tennessee’s defense for scoring 160 of those points. This week, although I’m basically playing the Packers, I’m heavily favored because they have a number of injured players and, well, I think they’ve given up. I may regret dropping Greg Little, but Cleveland is horrible and the rest of their schedule is brutal. I picked up Chris Ogbonnaya and Damian Williams for insurance.
ESPN
This week’s update should be called the “I hate Jordy Nelson” edition. I had a comfy lead going into the Monday night game and, well, wouldn’t you know it, Nelson scores 18 point and I lose 72-66. I’ve got a rematch with a guy I whupped earlier in the year, but now I’m a 20ish point underdog thanks to a couple of injured stars (Andre Johnson and Jahvid Best). I picked up Best’s handcuff, Maurice Morris, along with Kendall Hunter (yes, the Niners will let Gore rest the rest of the year), and Laurent Robinson. I finally ditched DeSean Jackson, that scrub. He’s been awful all year long and his final chance was against the Arizona Cardinals. Jackson repaid me by getting benched. Sayonara sucker!
Tonight’s game is Jets/Broncos. I’m actually looking forward to seeing how the Jets will handle that bizzaro offense that Tim Tebow is running in Denver. My money is on the Dongles. The Jets are too schizophrenic right now and they’re coming off a short-week beating at the hands of the Patriots.
I’ll update with Rod and Adam’s posts as soon as they’re up.
