Today is Palm Sunday, the day the Church celebrates the misnamed “triumphal entry” of Jesus into Jerusalem riding on an ass. It is often viewed, by a large portion of Western Christians, as Jesus triumphantly entering Jerusalem, knowing the end was near, and, in some cases, as a public declaration of his messiah-ship.
