The good thing about being offline for the weekend is that most of the insanity that passes through the news cycle goes unnoticed on my end. The bad thing is, once Monday comes and I take the time to catch up, I realize how insane the world truly is.

Last night, President Obama announced that a troop withdrawal from Afghanistan would begin, on schedule, with the first 10,000 of the approximately 30,000 ‘surge’ troops he sent due home in the very near future, with the remaining 20,000 by mid 2012.
Pardon me if I’m not overwhelmed by this announcement.
